Baby Steps

One of the things I see most often with my clients is something that all of us experience at one time or another: the feeling of being overwhelmed. Unsure of where to start in their quest to become organized, they did nothing and their space got worse. This, of course, created stronger feelings of being overwhelmed and an increasingly chaotic environment and the wheel went round. Until they called me.

Ironically, at the time when we most need to take action overwhelm kicks in and immobilizes us. All it takes is a shift in focus to move past this potentially debilitating emotion. Rather than looking at the top of the staircase and wondering how you are going to get there, simply remain focused on the step just in front of you. Break big tasks into manageable chinks and you’ll be amazed. Set aside a little time each day and before you know it, what once felt impossible is simply a memory.
